About Us

We are a growing Jewish community living in The Cayman Islands who have come together to study, worship, and support each other in the continuity of our Jewish heritage.

Although our community was started by Harvey DeSouza and Ruth Silvera decades ago, it has grown tremendously in the past two years, as we have worked to create a more structured community to offer our members spiritual, social and educational opportunities.

Not only are we many members strong on Grand Cayman, but members of the community are present on all three of the Cayman Islands, with a beautiful synagogue set on Cayman Brac.

We gather together to observe Shabbat at least once a month with a community service on Friday evenings, and celebrate many of the holidays throughout the Jewish Calendar year at the homes of our members and at local community centers.

We have been fortunate to celebrate the High Holidays together for the past two years along with an ordained Rabbi, and are proud to have our own Sefer Torah to share with our community.

We are constantly changing to adapt to our life as Jews in the Cayman Islands, and we encourage the participation of everyone in our community to ensure a satisfying and stable future for the Jewish Community of the Cayman Islands.
